Sandy Shanty is a 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bathroom, 1800 sq. ft. cottage is located in the Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores, Alabama.  

***DOG FEE is $250 and max weight of dog allowed is 40 pounds. Dog fee is NOT included in the total. You will need to let us know after reserving that you are bringing a dog so the fee can be added.***

This seaside beach “shanty” is the perfect little getaway spot for you and yours. The open floor plan inside lets in the natural light along with views of the Gulf of Mexico. In the living room, you’ll find a couch, love seat, and chair just inside the door off the south facing deck. A four top table is also included for those quality family dinners made in the fully outfitted kitchen. You’ll also find an island with stove and seating for 4+ guests.


In the Primary bedroom, you’ll find a King-sized bed, dresser, nightstands, and flat screen television. Just outside the sliding glass doors is a screened-in deck with beach views. Adjoining the Primary bedroom is a Primary bath with large vanity countertop, shower/tub combo, and water closet. 


The additional bedrooms include a queen-sized bed and two twin beds respectively. There is an accompanying full bath and half bath for guest use. Downstairs, you’ll find a bonus/game room for guest enjoyment. This area includes sleeper sofa that can sleep another 2 guests.

  • RENTAL AGREEMENT: Tenant Vacation Rental Agreement must be electronically signed to secure your reservation. Please read carefully. This is a legally binding document.


  • NO SMOKING: All properties are non-smoking.


  • AGE RESTRICTION: Must be at least 25 years older to book a BEACHBALL PROPERTIES vacation rental. A person 25 years or older must be staying at the property for the entire duration of the booking. There will be no refunds issued for anyone booking under false pretenses.


  • CHECK-IN: Check-in is at 4PM. Early check-in is not possible, sorry but no exceptions.


  • CHECK-OUT: Check-out is at 10AM. Check out after 10AM will be charged an additional day.


  • DOG-FRIENDLY PROPERTIES (2) : If you are staying at a dog-friendly property, you MUST notify us and pay a non-refundable dog deposit. Failure to do so will result in us charging your card for the entire amount authorized for damage. 


  • MONTHLY/SNOWBIRD RENTALS: Available from November through February. Call to ask about monthly rates.


  • PARKING PASSES: 4 The cost of parking passes is set by each Homeowner’s Association and is subject to change at any time without notice. U-hauls, trailers, boats, jet skis, buses, etc. are not allowed on property.


  • CANCELLATION POLICY RELAXED: Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in shall receive a 100% refund of the amount they have paid. For cancellations between 14 and 30 days before check-in, 50% of the total reservation costs shall be refunded. For cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the beginning date of the reservation, NO REFUNDS will be issued. Refunds shall not be issued for late arrivals, early departures, or inclement weather conditions including hurricanes and named storms. We do offer optional travel insurance which we highly encourage all guests to purchase.


  • WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: Guests receive a “starter pack” of laundry detergent, dish washing detergent, one trash bag per trash can, and travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, and soap per bathroom. Starter supplies are not intended to last for the duration of your stay. Linens are furnished but please bring your own beach towels.


  • RATES: Rates subject to change up until time of booking. Additional fees and taxes may apply.

Clean and comfortable, we found Sandy Shanty to be the perfect place for our family vacation! The quiet community with direct beach access was wonderful! We will probably be renting again for another Fort Morgan excursion in the future. :)

The only issue we had was we lost power for a few minutes during a small storm and the wifi would not hook back up to the tvs nor any of our devices. A work order was place and he showed up as we was leaving/checking out to fix it. It would have been nice to have had that fixed sooner for the night time other than that the place was beautiful and very close to the beach. Everything worked and we had all we needed there. We stayed there and the beach the entire time and really enjoyed family time.
